Heartseeker Varus auto-attack animation

Heartseeker Varus' AA animation seems to be buggy.

I noticed this in particular over the last two games I played him (1 yesterday, 1 today). It's been maybe a month or so since I last played this skin, but I didn't notice it before last night.

I've noticed that his AAs don't always fly to the target and hit them head on, then disappearing as a normal auto attack from an ADC. Very often, the auto attack will fly to the left or right of the target, and sometimes it will appear to partially fly through the target before disappearing.

It's not consistent and I'm not sure if this is singular to this skin or Varus as a champ.

I'm not sure there is a way to specifically repeat this other than just going to lane and autoing some minions. I do typically start with W, so I'm not sure if it's related to that skill.
