Lux Ult Unintended Functionality

As a lux main I kinda just learned to deal with it because, up until now, it didn't happen too often. But now that champions like Nautilus, Azir, and others with displacements are in flavor maybe it's time this bug got dealt with.

If lux uses her ult and is displaced the laser will fire from her original position, but the hitbox actually activates from the position where she ends up. So situations like what Scarra experienced happen where it appears as if you're ult just does "no damage", when in reality he technically missed........i guess.

The confusing part about this is that lux's kit (at least in the current meta) is designed around her landing her snare so that she can follow up with the rest of her combo. The sad thing is that Scarra literally did everything right by landing his snare and aiming his ult correctly but his entire combo was mitigated by Nautilus moving her with his hook. The confusing part is that the intended design was clearly too make lux's laser fire from her position rather than where she launched it, making it pointless to land snare in some situations as someone can easily just move her and force a miss.

I don't know if this is necessarily a "bug" as it clearly looks like the visual is just messed up, which is why i called the title what I did, but it should probably be dealt with.

I embedded the specific time within the youtube link; however, if for some reason that's not working, the "bug" happens around 7m 38s.

It would make sense to work that way. The problem that i have with it is that the visual effect doesn't move aswell, which makes you think it should've hit the person you were aiming at.

But that's a clarity problem, not a gameplay one. (i think)

its kinda like ez and if he flashes during his ult the animation moves with him but its casts u casted it orginally so maybe if you can figure out how to work with this lux ult bug you can make it look like its not goin to hit but it actually does because they dont try to dodge it OMG

Yea lux ultimate is a channeled skill and if the channel is interrupted the skill wont shoot just like any other. Although the channel time is really small it can still broken. Like my man Blueslifer said, its a clarity issue. Gameplay worked like it was supposed to.

The problem is not that no damage is being caused. The problem is that the animation is not being canceled with the damage. A pull is a subclass of Airborn status effect which is a sub form of stun.

Essentially pulling is stunning you stopping you from finishing your cast. Thanks to the changes made to Lux's ult with when the channeling ends and the cooldown starts. Since she already started casting it when she was 'stunned' it look like she casted it.

You see it all the time when you die while casting it too. Cooldown starts and it continues firing despite the fact you're dead and does not damage.

tl;dr This a simple graphic bug. This is not a damage mechanic bug. Lux ult is not Fiddlesticks ult. Hers can be interrupted.
