Does Normal MMR affect Ranked MMR?

I have tried searching this, and cannot find anything of use. Basically, I am a Plat 4, who decided to play Norms with my friend that is not level 30. That means we were getting paired against bronze/silver opponents. Cool, makes sense. The problem comes when I decide to go solo queue. I am still being paired against silver/bronze opponents. Is this a bug? Either way, if you want to take a break from ranked, be aware that at the moment, it is most certainly affecting your ranked matchmaking as well.

No, Normal MMR is entirely separate from Ranked MMR. Neither interact with the other in any way (it is possible to be Challenger Ranked, and Bronze equivalent MMR in Normals and vice versa).

I don't think so! You can tryhard ranked and shaco support normals.

You could also shaco support ranked and tryhard normals! As long as you're not a jerk about it!..... ~~ trying to win!~~ You know what, I don't know what riot even wants you to think or do anymore. It used to be all for fun! :P

I definitely read that post Nami, but my experience just told me that it did impact my ranked. Also, my second game into ranked and I was playing against plats again. I have no idea what is going on. I definitely think that there may be a bug, and I hope Riot takes a closer look into what is going on.
