Opening Friends/Chat tab breaks client [CLIENT]

After opening the friends/chat tab in the League client, I experience a multitude of issues.

1. I become unable to scroll through my friends list.
2. When I attempt to chat with a friend the text input box shows "**Chat Text Input".
3. In the imgur album attached, you'll also see that I can no longer see mastery spells, and it appears that each frame is laid on top of each other. The scaling and position is also affected for my rune pages and nearly every other inline image in the client.
4. When getting into a game, I can no longer see champion portraits. This resulted in me losing 3 LP because I couldn't ban a champion in ranked.

If I avoid opening the friends/chat tab, the game client functions normally and I have no issues getting into a ranked game. I emailed Riot support and got a canned answer that offered no resolution and simply said that I should submit a bug report. I've never had a problem dealing with Riot, but I was very disappointed this time around. Hopefully a Rioter can help this get resolved.
