Akali Q bug (gameplay)

So while playing akali I found that her Q would not proc it's second damage from her E ability. Only AA would proc the Q damage. I was using the stinger akali skin and only played summoners rift map. out of 5 games never worked. If this was an intended mechanical change it was never mentioned in any patch notes. Thanks for looking into it!
