there's been a bug with the item, the unique passive giving teammates 20 magic resist is fine, but it will give the champion who purchased it 40 magic resist when it should be 20.item 3105

That's not a bug, it's intended. The item has magic resist listed both in the aura and outside the aura, and the user is affected by the aura, so they get both MR bonuses.
