Jax cant counterstrike nasus Q GAMEPLAY

In my last game my jax couldn't counterstrike the nasus when he used his q getting the nasus very fed and him carrying the game. I think this is a glitch because fiora can counter the nasus q with her riposte or shield think so why cant jax? It makes no sense this needs to get fixed fast.

By my recollection, this isn't a bug, just a strange interaction:

He dodges the attack, but not the spell on top of it. This is how it works across the board for spells like that (assuming that I'm remembering correctly).
