Retrieving Data From Server

When you bring up a message blocking someone from choosing a champion saying "Retrieving Data From Server" could you please TRY to retrieve data from the server? That or at least try to do some error handling so people don't get blocked from playing a game, because of something they have no control over and has nothing to do with internet connection.
