UPDATE The Bug is fixed. Please fully read the discussion to know all the steps I took to fix the issue. Upvote for the others to see

Hi, so here am I enable to play the game since the latest patch. I am able to use the client just fine but whenever the game starts (Before the loading screen and after the champion selection) my screen becomes fully black for 10 seconds and it crashes with this error message:

"An unknown DirectX error has occured and League of Legends cannot start. Please make sure your video card is using the latest video drivers from the manufacturer."

After encountering the issue for the first time, I installed the latest video drivers. Graphic card : GeForce GTX 780 TI Drivers installed : GeForce 397.31 - WHQL

This manipulation did not fix the issue.

To reproduce the crash: 1- Use the hardware (card and drivers) stated above. 2- Create or join any game of any type in League of Legends. 3- Select your champion and lock-in. (Rakan is the one used) 4- Wait for the game to start. 5- Witness the crash and the Error message.

I will try to find a way to fix this and keep you posted.

I managed to fix the problem. Here's what I did after the installing the latest video drivers:

1- Reinstalled DirectX9 2- Tried to run a "Practice tool game". It crashed again 3- Made some space on my main hard drive by removing files and programs.     (C: drive had only 4 GB left. It now has 11 GB of free space) 4- Uninstalled the game 5- Reinstalled the game 6- Tried to run a "Practice tool game". It worked!

I hope this helps!
