[GAMEPLAY] Issue With Pantheon's Aegis of Zeonia When Using Flash

Pantheon's ability Aegis of Zeonia has an issue with the animation or rather the lack of the effect of the ability lining up with the "projectile used to carry out the stun and damage the ability provides. So to put what happens simple Pantheon uses Aegis of Zeonia, the move is a non-skill shot move meaning that is always hits. This is where my confusion/issue with the ability comes into play. The projectile used for Aegis of Zeonia is Pantheon's character model himself. Pantheon jumps to the selected target to carry out the ability. There is a travel time between when Pantheon jumps to the target from when the ability was originally performed. In this said travel time a character has the option to use flash. However the ability will still have the effect of stunning the target even if the target itself is no where near Pantheon's character model when Pantheon lands to perform his stun. Previously to me filing a support ticket I was under the impression that all abilities in the game have to hit the target to have an effect on them. However this is not the case with Pantheon's stun due to the fact the Pantheon's character model is used as the projectile itself to perform the abilities consequences. My problem with this primarily was that even the ability itself has no apparent way to dodge the stun through movement such as Flash in my case, this creates a counter-intuitive scenario where the play cannot be stopped from being stunned through their own movement which cause them to waste abilities such as Flash, which if you look at it from a "abilities are suppose to hit you to have effects" stand-point then this subsequently creates and unfair scenario for the player (at least for me) since the "projectile" in this situation does come into contact with the player. It's is just the fact that the projectile doesn't hit the player that deems it unfair and confusing to me. In other words I don't mind that it is a guaranteed stun I just want the projectile of any type of ability to be consistent with its effects. In my support ticket one of the nice people to handle my case mentioned that he would have a similar problem when he was playing AD Carry as he would sometimes cancel the auto-attack animation bu the projectile would still fly to the target but take no damage. So what I'm saying isn't an isolated incident related to only one action in the game, but rather a frequent consequence of players uses of their speicific characters.

Reproducing the "Bug" in question

  1. Have Pantheon use Aegis of Zeonia
  2. During the travel time of Aegis of Zeonia have the target he is locked onto use Flash (I haven't tried other movement abilities to escape it although they might have the same effect)
  3. Be amazed at how even though Pantheon doesn't actually hit his target he still stuns them and damages them.

I believe this "bug" can be reproduced at any time under no special conditions as long as a character uses Flash (or another movement ability; again I don't know if this is the case) to try to avoid coming into contact with Pantheon when he is using Aegis of Zeonia.

To conclude, if and Riot staff would like to see my support ticket is #16314285. If me providing my support ticket help resolved the issues I'm glad. If any Riot employee has any additional questions to ask me about the "bug" the best way to contact me would be from the e-mail address used to file the support ticket.

Additionally I realize that a change to this ability is very unlikely and it is even more unlikely that you would like my input on how to fix the "bug", but if you would like my input on perhaps how to change it to make it less confusing for the player I did in fact have a few ideas in mind.

I hope this gets resolved and the Riot team continues to work hard to make the game play as fun as possible to for everyone. Thank You.

Best Regards, Chronomight

I believe this is due to him casting the ability and it acting as if it is in "cast" already before they flash and then them resulting in being stunned. I do agree that this is dumb, but on many other champions you can do this same type of thing.
