Will not let me play LOR

I am trying to play Legends of Runeterra, I got it downloaded and everything. I click on the client it lets me go in. I see ashe standing on the cliff and it checks for updates. Then after that I get whisked away to a screen with the music sitll playing but it is all black. I have waited an hour now to see any progress but it is still on the same screen
