MAC Client: Poro King Gameplay

After the champion selection screen, the screen turns completely black. None of the splash art for champions load etc. Just plain black. I force quit the black fullscreen, attempt to "reconnect" to the game, wait forever staring at the black screen. I eventually exit out of league, log back in, press "reconnect" again and STILL have the same black full screen. But I see my friend who I was in champion select with playing the game for 9minutes already... Anyone else having this frustrating issue??
