Mac crashes upon death

So, after getting killed by garen, apparently my Mac can't handle Garen's Goldly demacian justice Sword falling animation, it literally crashed and gave me a bug splat. So "my" Mac has an intel 5000 graphics and plays 60 fps decently until I can get my desktop back. Anyways, garens mighty sword crashes my game or is super choppy when im in a team fight. My mac is up to date and the shabang so i was wondering if there is a solution to this.

My friend and I both play on macs and our screens freeze whenever we die. It lasts from 1-10 seconds and is no more than a nuisance, because it only happens when we are dead anyways.
