If you are unable to connect to server and get a black screen at loading
Try switching to the legacy client, it has worked for me after trying a bunch of other options

Was one of those other options a full repair? Just curious because a few others have said that a full repair has fixed it for them.
I've tried on both clients and had the issues. Also, could you list what you did do for others to try? Kinda player side troubleshooter for those that really want to play.
That didn't work, I tried both clients. You did however post around the time they fixed the issue, so it was most likely coincidence.
