If Soraka uses Q, and then presses hourglass, while hitting an enemy with Q, she doesnt gain any health from Q. When Swain uses ult and pops hourglass, he still gains health. Soraka should be able to gain health as well.

Use Starcall
Use hourglass (before Starcall hits the enemy champion)

Comming from a guy who plays a lot of soraka (300k mastery points) this is really annoying.

Obviously, I'm no spaghetti code maven, but I'd say it's because Swain's Bird Mode and other healing projectiles (Soraka's Starcall as well as Vladimir's Transfusion, notably) are coded differently. Swain's thing is more of an aura; the projectiles are autotargeted from him to enemy to him, which I would guess lets them pass through Zhonyas. With Soraka and Vladimir, though, the projectiles are disjoined if you become untargetable in flight. These also seem auto-targeted, but maybe it's some subtlety that I don't have the background to get.
