[Gameplay] Jax Q actual ability range does not match the circle for casting it.

This one has been a long time coming, I don't really hang out on the boards, I'd rather be playing league. However, I'm here and this happened again last night so it's still fresh on my mind.

I play A LOT of Jax. I don't have a true main.. but Jax is a safe pick for me.

Sometimes I'll lose kills and fights because of his Q.

You really notice it during a 1v1 chase.

I use quickcast for 99% of my abilities. The only time I ever turn it off is when I play sion. After which I'll turn it back on.

So coming back to jax.

I've had countless situations where Q will not cast, and that player is just slightly inside the range for it. I don't mean an inch.. I mean a decent portion of their hitbox is inside.

So much so that the player actually "highlights" or "outlines" to indicate they can be hit.

Last night was the final straw where I was like "I need to report this"

I was chasing MF and she was very close to death. My Q would have killed her alone.

As she ran through top lane from red base to blue, I could taste her fear.

My Q coolsdown and I think "This is It"

I go to cast it and her entire torso is in the circle (from the waist up to her head) and she is highlighted in blue.

Jax just keeps running...and running.. and she uses W.. so now I'm chasing her, trying to spam Q at her... Since she used W.. it now shows she is in range, highlighted and all.. but now its from her breasts and up... She casts W again.. and safely moves out. I get ganked and die... and she struts around like she is hotshit... never knowing that she BY RIGHTS was dead... but the ability never cast.. because she wasn't actually in range.

This isn't really isolated. It frustrates the hell out of me because in the heat of the moment, I can see a quick kill that if the ability would just cast.. they would be dead, and I could run away from their team mates long enough to Q hop onto a ward and get out.

I'm losing at least 3 kills a game when I play jax to this.

If I had to guess, I'd say the range is off by about the 2x the width of the outline of the blue circle that pops up... it isn't much, but it is noticeable.

I've made a picture of where I think the range is actually falling. I've got to figure out how to attach it but it will be here shortly.

I tried to test my theory in training mode on dummies (as I didn't want to deal with chasing an AI while trying to press Q and Print Screen at the same time) however... Jax would move from his current location to bring the dummies into range.

While that doesn't seem like an issue on the outside.. when you consider a live opponent is constantly moving away from you in those scenarios.. in a situation where say you both have 350 movement speed and you maintain the same distance apart... it will show that player inside your circle the entire time..while never actually leaping to them. Therefore jax can't take the extra step forward to bring it out.

In this picture provided. Going from left to right... The first 3 dummies are in range of his Q and the 4th is just on the very edge of the indicator.

A reasonable player should be able to look at any of these 3 and say.. I can Q that.

MF was actually further in the blue circle during that game than the second dummy from the left is.

I added two pictures of MF over top of the screenshot I took.

The one on the LEFT was relatively approximate to her EXACT position when I attempted to Q her last night. (Same skin too).

Any reasonable player would say... I can Q that.

She remained at about that distance the entire chase, until she cast he W.

Then she was roughly where the mf on the RIGHT was.

This entire chase lasted from about the second tower in top lane on RED side, all the way until she got back to the safety of her tower in top.

I generally will spam a few casts to make sure they go off.. but most of the time when I play jax, I will cast Q and allow him to advance on his own to finish the process as it is pretty straight forward.

When I saw it was failing.. I spammed Q at least 20 times, and it never triggered.

I know Jax is overpowered in most cases... but I just want his Range indicator to reliably tell me if I can hit or not.

I don't care if you shrink the circle to match the actual range or increase the actual range to match, but one of those two things needs to happen ultimately.

I'd prefer the actual range to match the indicator.. I feel like its appropriate as hard CC is enough to shut down the Q and its hard to close those gaps when players utilize this.

The Red Circle is my rough prediction of where the Actual Range of a successful Q is... It is definitely somewhere between the red and blue though... but I don't think I'm too far off.. If possible I'd like to know how close I got to being right.
