[Client] Launcher is a black screen with no "Play button"

I'm on a Mac OSX 10.9.1. Everything was working fine until two patches ago (5.3?). Then when I tried to patch, it got stuck at like 32% and said "unspecified error". I uninstalled/reinstalled several times and eventually ended up with my current problem. I have the client in my applications folder, I don't have IE so that LAN fix thing doesn't apply (on Chrome everything is unchecked though), I've disabled my firewall, nothing. All I get is a black screen with the ?, settings, -, and x. I can only click the x and the -, however. Flash and Java are up to date.

Please help!
