BLACK SCREEN FOR CHAMP SELECT!
WHY is this happening?! I am forced to dodge from ranked que and lose lp plus get ban time! Riot please fix this! Numerous amount of people are having the same problem!

same exact thing to me for 5 rooms now starting a couple days ago. I have only played one game in the past week almost because I just lose LP and don't even get a chance to pick my champion. awesome champion select riot thanx

is riot not even going to look at this message or even say anything about looking into this issue....i have had this happen to me since the new patch and i have dodged so many ranked games becuase of this issue about 50 lp now and over 2-3 hours of dodge que timers.....riot like seriously do something about this...talk to us....say something for christ sake
Happened to me twice just now. Lost total of 13 LP. Feelsawfulman.
In the friends tab there is an option to group offline and group mobile together. Make sure both the options are selected then minimize both the groups.
Ugh I am also dealing with this, someone please reply to me if a rioter responds EDIT- I fixed it, go to settings and do an initiate full repair
Same thing happened to me!!! I waited hoping sb would leave and restart the cliend but they didnt and I got a 30 min dodge ban and lost 10 LP!!!! :@@@@@@@@@
I literally have lost 3 games due to this bug!! I was 80 lp 1 game from promo and then got hit with this!!!
To everyone who has already posted (and will post) about this topic: if you worry about your league rank & LP as much as your comments say, revert to using the legacy client until this is resolved.
I wondered if it was just me but this thread proves my suspicions. Yep, count me amongst those who just wanted to play a game but once i hit champ select....black screen with no ability to do anything....so i get dodged and penalized for it. Never had this bug before and I've used the new client since November. Riot, I hope you prioritize fixing this.
Similar issue; My champion select doesn't go black, it simply freezes completely. Duo partner told me champ select continued. I was forced to quit the program and log back in, but of course I can't get back into Champ Select even while it's still going on...
btw, this has been an issue since season 4 when i started playing. assumed it was a weak programmer on their payroll. Yolo. You know, that one employee that does bare minimum and skirts by with a job sucking down a salary. lol!

I found a fix that works for me. Please try this and let me know if it works for you to. Click on the upper right hand corner of your friends list, click "group by mobile." "group by offline." - Once both of those are checked this should resolve any issues with matches loading. I think it has something to do with the size of your friends list and sorting the information.

I just got this .. absolutely black screen .. Lost LP cause it counted as a dodge, I couldnt do anything couldn't click or do anything.
I was blinded :( help me

This has happened to me just now. Luckily, it was just a normal game, but still have to wait out dodge timer,
waiting 15 min queue timer now cuz of this
It happened to me three times. I tried to start a custom game, but there's the same problem!
Three times in a row now hit with a 13 minute leaver buster. Loving life.
Fix your shitty game just spent 35 mins total in queue timers because of black screen, oh and your game crashes every time I open league since last patch
Rito spaghetti code at it's finest. How about fixing the shit that's wrong with your game (balance included) rather than pushing out a "new" unfinished client, new champs and items and awful flavor gametypes. The worst is that we can't even try restarting the client when it happens. Yay leaverbuster! You fixed all the problems! /s
