Leblanc jumped away and used item 3157 at the same time I ultied on zed. Seemed to cancel my ult and put it on a 5 second CD, not sure if intended or not.

I'm pretty sure this is intended. If the target dies or becomes untargetable (such as through using Zhonya's) before Zed officially applies the mark, then his ult will be canceled and put on cooldown for a few seconds.

I know this interaction occurs for Caitlyn's ult if the target dies or becomes untargetable before she fires the bullet, so I would imagine the same would apply for Zed's ultimate.
