So what happened, please explain.

I was in a lobby and told everyone I was going to random at 5 seconds. Then the lobby ended (before 10 seconds), I was kicked back to the main screen, and now I have to wait "5 minutes" for leaving a game? What happened? Someone please explain. Is riot kicking people because they chose to use the "random" option? How could they know without active moderation? What happened? This makes little sense unless riot is actively monitoring lobbies.

Sometimes the game timer does not match actual time remaining. Usually processor lag/or system time not matching client time. Most likely you had less time left than it said. Try updating your system clock, and maybe close some extra programs.

Also.......your future team mates were probably glad. I mean...depending on game mode, and if you were premade..sure.. But if you were playing with 4 randoms and only planned on giving them 5 seconds to adjust their team comp around you...kinda rude...

Sorry, but I disagree on every single point you made. I want a challenge, and I am playing a normal game, not ranked. Never once has the timer been wrong for me. If my team cannot accept my play-style, then that's too bad. Regardless of that babble, the point is I was kicked from a game and punished when I did not make a mistake. Maybe riot should see this as a bug report, then.

Well, 2nd half was an opinion. Take it or leave it.

1st part was just data/advice. And I can 100% guarantee the timer has been wrong for you. In fact, it is 'wrong' every single game you play. But the difference can be 0.2 seconds, or in your case, about 15 seconds.

Even on LAN the timer will be offset slightly, but in that case it's about 0.001 seconds, but if you're using the internet, then, yes, it will be off.

I would understand if I had bad internet, but I download files at over 5 MegaBYTEs a second. I have had 1 disconnect in the past 6 months. There is an extra level of enforcement or an exploit that someone utilized.

download speed ≠ latency

Also, You are sounding alien conspiracists-ish...Riot wasn't watching your game and punishing you for trolling pregame chat...

Alsoalso, Using random is not inherently a bad thing. Waiting till 5 seconds left on the clock and not allowing allies to react to your decision is the wrong part.

Pick random and tell your allies you are playing random as soon as champ select starts, but also be willing to go to the lane they want you to and play the role they want you to play with the random champ. EG: Support Yi, build something like item 3302 item 3117 item 2049 item 3144 early and don't steal all the adc's farm and roam, gank and ward a lot.

Or, Janna top, item 2041 item 3028 item 3285, island yourself and keep poking them, don't make your jungler have to gank/camp just to save your ass/tower

Yes, sub-optimal, but you wanted a challenge right?

Waiting till 5 seconds, and picking a random champ is not a 'challenge,' it's just disregarding other people and intentionally not communicating with your team. If anything it's a challenge for everyone BUT you. Cause they are the ones that have to react to it and likely pick up the slack from you not filling whatever lane/role you get optimally.

If you really want a challenge, just play well and improve your MMR, you'll eventually be placed against people who are better than you and force you to get better.

I tell everyone I am random at 5 sec. Is it still insufficient? Are the games I win anomalies? Actually, that's rhetorical. Nonetheless, people play games in the way they want; it's not your place to judge me, however much you feel entitled to doing so. Guess I can welcome the flame, then, as controversial as a statement that is. I would argue with you on the topic of latency, but I doubt you have a true understanding of the logistics prevailing behind the behavior. I decided to give you an example of my network's capability and you made some assumptions, nothing more. It's not worth explaining these things to people that understand; and if you do understand what I mean, then you would end this rebuttal now. On the topic of Riot watching me, I may be paranoid - I at least concede that point; however, the behavior I experienced from the software was far too anomalous for me to disregard at the time.

you really need to take a networking class. EvilMerodach is spot on with the latency and sync argument.

Usually processor lag/or system time not matching client time.

Minor read/write errors can also cause de-sync of the clock. Your OS is designed to auto correct when these happen and not even bother reporting them. Part of the nature of using volatile memory. Their is a reason why windows automatically checks in and updates the time, weekly.

But go ahead and think riot is out to get you. The reality is that you are not even remotely important to riot. None of us are.

Oh man, a networking class is beneath both of us if you lay claim to such an understanding. Pay me and I will teach you. /convo

On a different topic: why do people think they know how computers/autonomous systems actually operate when they do not? Is it a feeling of superiority? If so, that's kinda messed up... especially when the information they spread is false/vague. On that note, Angry Monster, you are very misinformed. Do you have a degree for computer science (BS/MS/Ph.D)? If so, you might want to study a bit more. Please don't try and tell people things that you obviously don't "get".

It sucks to be condescending (even if it feels good), but please do not spread misinformation. The logistics that you're trying to articulate are, unfortunately (for you), not applicable to what we were discussing (and I might even say, invalid).

I may suck at video games, but not all people have to be good at games to know what they're talking about. One day you'll understand.

You randomizing should be punished and i would report you. God i hate self entitled pricks like you. You want to screw around go premade or bots.

Some people actually want to have decent games.

these builds.... well i will never have to worry about you in my games at least

CzechErface1 votes

Every match is different. My previous matches do not matter. If you think going random is something to be punished, then it is not my fault since Riot produced the option. I am not your scapegoat. How do you know people don't go random in your games unless they say so? Flawed logic. Did I mention I don't play ranked (not that it actually matter for this argument).

Angry Monster1 votes

non ranked does not mean be stupid. I am assuming that you are doing blind pick(yuck). How are people supposed to setup a team if you are doing a random select at the last sec? Let me guess you expect everyone to play around your last second roll.

Your also risking not even getting your runes and masteries setup optimally.

edit just checked your setups........ LOL

You would be wrong in every assumption you make. I do acknowledge how you laugh at my expense, though.
