To be honest I'm not sure what happened here. I threw my e as i jumped out of ult but missed it and stayed on cd even after i got 5 stacks of ferocity. I spent 40 minutes with a friend trying to recreate this without any luck.
Watching in .25 speed, looks like there was a weird interaction between the end of non-empowered bola's cast (puts skill on cooldown) and max ferocity's cooldown refresh.
I think both effects happened simultaneously (or maybe the end of bola cast very slightly before) that could've caused a conflict, and the "go on cooldown" won out.
May also explain why its hard to replicate since you would have to time the end of the bola cast with the passive ferocity gain from your ult.
