Draven vs Yi alpha strike, axes completely dissapears?

So basically while playing a game as Draven, something would occur that caused my death and completely breaks Draven's power. If you auto attack a Yi with your Q buff who also does alpha strike while your axe is flying towards him, the axe will completely disappear from existence meaning that it will do no damage (normal), will not even bounce so I can catch it, nor will it return the buff automatically so I can use the axe later after alpha finishes. The axe should either start flying up doing no damage to Yi (just like when you attack a creep that dies before the axe hits) Or simply refresh the axe buff, doing no damage to Yi (just like when you attack a tower)
