Kayn: darkin umbral explaination please

So i recently got kayn and im using the darkin version and the ult red 33% max hp as physical damage. I ult trundle with 3k hp and he takes under 300 damage........................ like what???? 3000x.33= ~1000 so why is this so low????

does this happen to anyone else or am i missing something?
