bug/oversight concerning Illaoi's E (Test of Spirit) and Gangplanks W (Remove Scurvy)

i notice not to long ago (simply cause the match up hadnt happened to me) that Gangplank Gangplank's remove scurvy ability does not cancel Illaoi Illaoi's Test of Spirit (tentacle grab). for that matter it doesnt even remove the debuff you get after the spirit is killed/ you move out of the aria. i then tested this with item 3140 quicksilver sash and item 3139 mercurial scimitar and neither of them stopped Illaoi's grab nor removed the debuff afterwards. i do not imagine that this is intentional as Illaoi's grab is not fundamentally different from Blitzcranks or Thresh's grab, both of which are stopped by Gangplank's W as well, the effect afterward is clearly a debuff, all of which are said to be removed by Gangplank Gangplank's W

i apologies for not leaving instructions, honestly it is rather self explanatory though. it seems like no matter when during the animation Gangplank uses his W, it will never stop Illaoi 's E or remove any associated debuffs weather used before or after

As said before, Gangplank's W only removes CC, it does not remove debuffs, so it will not remove anything associated with Illaoi's E other than the slow when GP initially becomes a vessel, as that is the only thing that is a form of CC. Being "grabbed" by Illaoi doesn't apply any CC.

As for QSS/Mercurial not removing anything, having your spirit pulled does not apply a debuff, so that won't be removed.

Becoming a vessel, on the other hand, does apply a debuff, so if that isn't being removed, then it is a bug. However, this would be the only bug in your situation.

Its no secret that Illaoi is broken, I ban every chance I get. As for GP's W, It states that it removes all crowed control effects. I'm sure someone will argue that her tentacle grab is not a form of CC. But! I do think that quicksilver should cancel it.
