Towers are useless?

Season 6 has brought it's fair share of changes. I feel like the game has sped up alot, and people are playing faster and more aggressive. Due to the high damage output on almost every champion, I find towers to be far weaker than they ever have. I've seen mid lane lose 3 towers in the time it took for 1 person to get back to lane. Perhaps towers need a buff? Any thoughts on the matter?
