same error here, did reboot and even reinstall, also switching to google DNS (8.8.8.8 like in the video) does not solve the problem (nor switching to VPN), any ideas?

Most likely A DNS failure at high tier. edit: Or a problem with handling the requests

I just tested NL and UK VPN, they did not work. (also tried google DNS but it didnt work for me, however I did not flush the old dns settings out [force]) Using a USA VPN I did get through.

I am using a paid VPN so I have good pings anywhere, still I hope it gets fixed quick.

Had the same problem, temporarily switched to OpenDNS and it worked. Seems like something's up with Google DNS.

I had this problem along with a friend earlier today; however, we were able to clear it up by disconnecting our computer/laptop internet connection/ethernet wires and shutting down our devices.

For a quick fix, this seemed to have worked as the League client was able to boot up right after this test. It's not a guarantee fix, but for a quick solution this seems to do the trick.

I had the error but it legit JUST cleared up for me. Try again? Or give it 5 minutes.

I had the same Problem. You can ignore all other suggestions, they wont work.

Try this:

  1. Right click on your connection icon in the bottom right of your screen.
  2. Go to the network centre.
  3. Go to the adapter settings thingie.
  4. Search your connection.
  5. Right click -> properties.
  6. Search Internet protocol version 4.
  7. Right click -> properties.
  8. Change your DNS servers to 8.8.4.4 (the first one) and 8.8.8.8 (the second one).
