GAMEPLAY - Jax loses ad on his q when buying sterak's gage

Pretty simple. As the title explains, when purchasing Sterak's gage, Jax loses ad scaling on his q skill. I haven't checked if he loses ad scaling on his e or on the armor of his ult but imagine it may be the case. My initial guess was that it has something to do with the interaction between Sterak's gage base ad percentage increase and Jax's total ad but I don't know. It may be the case with other champs too. Worth checking.

Please solve this as I'd like to buy Sterak's Gage without losing ad scaling on skills. Thanks yo!

Jax's Q scales with bonus AD.

Sterak's Gage provides base AD, not bonus AD.

His Q scales bonus AD and item 3053 increases your base AD.

I'm fully aware of this. Read the description again please before making assumptions.

Say the q damage is shown as 230 (50) (11) upon purchasing Sterak's gage, the q damage bonus ad SCALING is lowered - you should gain base ad but there's no reason why it should lower your bonus ad, it should stay as 50.

Yes, there is a reason why it should be lowered. Once you buy Sterak's Gage, you lose the bonus AD you had from it's components. That bonus AD is converted into base AD. Since no longer have the bonus AD, the damage you get from the bonus AD scaling is lowered.

Here's an example, to see if it can help you understand. All numbers are purely hypothetical.

Say an ability has 100% BONUS AD scaling, and you have 100 base AD and 50 bonus AD. The ability would gain 50 extra damage from its scaling because you have 50 bonus AD. Now, let's say you buy Sterak's Gage and it converts all of your bonus AD into base AD. You still have the same total of 150 AD, but now you have 150 base AD and 0 bonus AD. Now your ability would gain 0 extra damage from it's bonus AD scaling because you have 0 bonus AD.

This is what buying Sterak's Gage does.

I'm not making assumptions, you are. Base ad DOES NOT scale with bonus ad. Once you get item 3053 you lose the bonus in exchange for 25% base AD increase.
