WTF is with these patches!!

I really dont get why we have these patches that we have almost every 2-3 days. I get a patch, then i start downloading it i then watch a movie and when i come back its still on like 39% and it has 0 kb/s. So i restart it and it goes straight into 33%... about 15 minutes in, it gets stuck at 0% AGAIN. i have now tried it 4 more times still nothing. i really dont get why they have to do them every 2-3 days around there just to "balance" champions out, and fix some glitches. Like why cant they do them at the end of the month they fix all the patches and all of that. and for the new champions why cant it just be optional or something to download? idk if thats possible but seriously though it gets me frustrated that the patches are always so buggy... i mean i love playing this game but how can i play it if i cant even get the patch updates working
