[CLIENT] High CPU Usage upon Opening Loot and Crafting Inventory on Windows Client

Opening the "Loot and Crafting Inventory" spikes one CPU core to 100%. This has been happening for the last two patches (at least). No other action in the entire game pegs the CPU core like that. I noticed the issue the first time because I was using a power saving mode on my computer. The crafting menu was opening at around 1-3 frames per second, and when I switched off power saving, menu responded normally. However, 1 cpu core was still at 100%.

I have played an entire game on power saving mode before with almost no discernible effect on performance, so it is very strange that a simple menu in the client causes a usage spike. There is a small possibility that this is a local problem, which is why I am posting. Let us know if you are experiencing the same issue.

This can be recreated by:

  1. Open LoL client
  2. Click on your "loot and crafting inventory" button
  3. Open task manager or your favorite system monitor program and look at your cpu usage

My system specs: OS: Windows 10 x64 AU (anniversary update) Disk: 850 evo ssd CPU: i5-3210m GPU: NVIDIA GT 650m 2GB Bandwidth: >100 Mbit/s using ethernet not wifi In-game ping: 28-29 ms

Yes, happens to me too. I can't play league, or use the game client when I set it to Power Saving. FPS drops horribly to, as mentioned, 1-5 frames per second. However I turn off Power Saving and everything's smooth again.

Luckily Riot's working on the Alpha Client, which will (hopefully) run a lot smoother than the current AIR client. I have it but since it is not yet 100% optimized, the frame rate can drop harder than the current client. :s
