Seems to be random, happened to one of the players in my premade but not the rest of us. From what he said, the whole client goes grey loses its interactivity (unable to select champion, type in chat, close/minimise via the client), resulting in a dodge. Weird thing is, the client isn't exactly frozen since the player affected by the bug can still see everyone else choosing their champs and typing in chat. Pretty bad as it triggers wait times and LP loss in ranked.

I'm constantly getting this too. It's like theres a blank overlay over the screen, the sort that appears when you get a gift or other such items. But this overlay has no way to close it or turn it off. 3rd time in a row its happened to me, still counting
This Problem occurs 50% of the time for me with this new patch, it also occurs in normal queue (Non-Ranked). You can see what your team is doing, but you cannot type/message, select a champ. It looks like it hasnt left the Accept/Decline match screen but the pop-up is gone
I've had the same thing happen to me many of times now and since it effects your leave record I feel they need to fix this asap
when you choose spells then close it without picking any this happens to me
Screen frozen and cant not type or select but u can see the players chating and selecting champs it has happened to me as still happening and cost me 90 mins que wait in total... and lost nearly 30 LP. Please fix this up ASAP this just comes in randome

Exact same thing happened to me, I've had to dodge 4 times already. I've noticed that the screen becomes grey tinted for a second or so when you accept the match and the tenth person joins.

I think I figured out how to stop the bug. This is just personal experience but I managed to get into 3 games in a row. Basically you can't be browsing anything when you accept the match. You can't be checking out champs and stuff in the store, be fixing masteries or item sets, etc. As long as you just stay on the featured screen of the store you'll get in without a problem. Again, just personal experience so it might be wrong but I believe this is too large a coincidence to miss.

This happened to me twice (luckily in normals), and it happened after I tried closing my summoner spells.
Screen goes grey and I can't do anything, resulting in dodge. Went from 40 to 18 LP please fix this and boost us back to where we were.
I had this happen as well (I'm on EUW), it happen right after I switched my summoners and I feel it was caused because the summoner spell selection window was opened and closed too fast. I had already selected my champion before changing the summoners and curiously enough after the game ended my launcher was still frozen (screen - http://s22.postimg.org/on1l60ddt/Untitled.png)
EDIT I just had it happen again this time after I gave honor to a teammate, both occurrences in one day. Interesting is that there was some patch updating interface today as well. (screen - http://s8.postimg.org/3md5h09xx/Untitled2.png)
EDIT EDIT It just happened again when selecting summoners, now I'm 100% confident its something to do with those pop up windows :)
Guess it's a bug when you change your summoners. So i suggest that you pick your Champ and Runes/Masteries first. Had to dodge a few games myself because of this bug.

It heppens when you choise your spells
This can also happen when you trying to report someone. After one of my games was over i tried to report an afk who left the game and never returned and as soon as i sent in the report my screen went dark and i couldnt escape or click anything. I had to close my LoL client and restart to be able to play again. That isn't a big of a deal as it happening in champion select but just saying if riot reads this. It also sometimes glitchs when reporting.

I got dropped out of ranked queue three times and got demoted from plat 3 to plat 4, and I can't play for the whole day, because of this shit, and still nobody in Riot has acknowledged it.
Yeah, I'm fucking pissed. 60 million players and still this the shittiest bug-fix team possible.
This is going to force me to either A. autolock or B. play with wrong runes, masteries, and summoner's spells...
I am also experiencing this issue. I have noticed this problems occurs when I am grouped up with someone else. I can't even pick a champion (this has happened for me in normal and aram queue) let alone get the opportunity to switch my summoner's or masteries.

I've had this happen once today game was about to start and then the game never started after the timer went down happened with everyone in the game
Twice today and in regulars so thankfully no ranked consequences but still. Riot please.
This is happening to me every single time, I've now got an hour ban as each time I get into champ select it freezes then crashes when I pick my summoners. Please fix!
Seriously this is getting RIDICULOUS!!! now 10 times today!! 10. yet again another queue timer before I can play another game. If I wanted to deal with queues this long I would have gone to work today, instead I Took a day off to play some League....FML. Please send some sort of Hot Fix for this!

The loss of LP is killer in this bug, Happened to me twice and I don't want to try and start another game in fear Ill lose too much LP. Fix soon please.

today jan 14 2016 i just had 2 in a row exactly like you just described. I was lead person to ban and it was just gray, I could see everything but I couldn't interact resulting in 2 bans now im stuck out for 30 mins. Pissed right now. i just dowloaded a patch. needs a quick fix
I am watching some videos in Opera browser, when come back to client, to start the game, i can see everything what is going on. But I cannot choose anything, even after thrown out of the game. Looks like glass window above the client.
This is getting really annoying!!! I have been waiting in Qs for 1 hour now and whenever I get to choose the champ, the page is frozen... and I GET BLAMED!!!
Yep same thing happened to me. Occurred while in champ select and resumed post-game. Had to close client.

This happened to me during the middle of the day, during the morning it wasn't an issue but it even did this when someone failed to accept a game it would do this on the home screen, can't wait to have a 20 minute ban timer :D rito plz fix
This bug has existed for the past 2 years. For a while, it happened in 10% of my rank games during champ select. Riot still hasn't fixed it.
This didn't happen for me until the recent patch.
