Client won't start, it launches lol game instead [CLIENT]

When I try to log in, the client does not pop up, instead it tries to launch lol game, then it askes me to check my internet connection, and puts me to the client where I am offered to reconnect to the non-existing game.

1: try to log in (really this is all I do to invoke the bug) 2: game launches instead of client 3: check internet connection bug appears 4: option to reconnect screen appears

I get this every time I try to log in.
