Spellcaster Minion Attack animations/Couldn't log into chat [gameplay]

Hi, was playing my second game of today and in the lobby I was unable to talk with my team members. However, upon entering the game I was able to. In addition, upon engaging Rengar top as Ryze, I found that the enemy spellcaster minions were shooting me with blue boxes. This continued throughout the game and was somewhat perplexing.

When I asked my teammates and opposition if they saw what I saw they did not respond, so it could have to do with my graphical settings which are all optimized for performance as opposed to graphics.
