Naut E Kalista ult glitch. GAMEPLAY

Earlier today, I was playing support Naut. I was playing with my friend who was Kalista. I pressed E at the EXACT same time she ulted, and I could not throw myself out of the ultimate, due to my E trying to go off. Anyone else experience this?
