[CLIENT] Champion Select Screen Blacks Out

I attempted to play a Normal Game (Blind Draft) with four friends, and as soon as all ten players accepted the match I loaded into Champion Select only for the entire client screen above the bottom bar (with the friends list button & notification button) to black out so I could not select a champion. As a result, we were kicked from the match up and our entire team was penalized for leaving the champion select process.

I have never had any problems like this before and we were able to join a game normally after waiting through the penalty, but I'm curious if there is a fix to this problem or if it was just a minor connection issue on my end (which is entirely possible)?
