[In-game] Remake not working as intended or just me?

So I just got remaked in a flex game and the situation went as follows : 1.I was in the game from the very beggining. 2. I disconnected at about 1:20 and recconected approx. 20 seconds later. 3. Despite me recconnecting,the game still counted me as afk and gave all 5 of us a remake vote. 4. Someone decided to be a douchebag and started the remake,another person followed and I lost my promos.

The 4th point is completely unnecesary,my question is weather this was remake going haywire or this is how it actually works for some reason,because on games where i was gone from loading screen to well over 2 minutes there was no possible remake. Thank You!
