Caitlyn shooting farther than indicator!

So I just recently played a game as LeBlanc where we were ahead the whole game, however they had been successful in taking one inhib so our base was open. We were still winning most fights nevertheless after they had taken a dragon we were heading down looking for a fight. I see Caitlyn and head for here when I get stunned by her trap and she is closing in on my to shoot an enhanced shot, there is still some space between the indicator and me as the stun is wearing off when she suddenly shoots and deals a ton of damage even though the indicator had not reached me yet, is this a bug or is it supposed to be like that because I am 100% sure the indicator was not near me when I got hit for a ton of damage from long range which lost us the game-
