Velkoz Q going through minions

Was laning and threw out a Q which proceeded to go right through a cannon minion by a good distance. Rewatched the replay to make sure i didn't just short the Q, but I very clearly 'should have' hit and killed the cannon minion. I feel like this has happened before too but this is the only one I have replay proof of.
