Fatal Error/Game Crash because of Windows Updates

I was completely up to date with my updates and the timing of a new one comes out as soon as my match starts, game crashes at champion portaits/loading in, have to install update(which takes 30 minutes because it's fucking Windows updates) and end up getting punished with Low Priority because the game crashed due to it being linked somehow to not having an update that Windows released...Don't know if this is a bug or just bad luck, either way I would like to thank Riot for punishing me(and I'm assuming other players) for things outside of our control! GG...
