I did not have a champion selected. I changed my summoner spell at around 25 seconds left to pick. The spell changed but my screen stayed dark. I could not click on anything or type. The timer ticked down and I was returned to the main client screen. The screen was still dark and I still couldnt interact with the client.
more details: It was ranked solo queue, I was last pick, Summoner spell change was from ignite to heal
This happened to me as well. The screen became tinted grey and you could see the other players calling lanes, chatting and picking champions but I couldn't click on anything. I couldn't even close the window. Very frustrating and has already made me dodge twice.
This Problem occurs 50% of the time for me with this new patch, it also occurs in normal queue (Non-Ranked). You can see what your team is doing, but you cannot type/message, select a champ. It looks like it hasnt left the Accept/Decline match screen but the pop-up is gone
Fix this S*** before i lose my mind over 30 min wait because of this S***
This just happened to me. After manually closing the client, my computer informed me that there was a compatibility issue, and that compatibility settings are now set.

Yeah what is this, I had 2 queue dodges and it seemed i could finally play a game but i couldnt do anything
Happened to me twice in a row, 1 bot game and 1 normal blind pick, since the new patch. Both time i already selected a champ, i tried to dodge the second one but the game still started even if i closed my client (alt f4, since nothing in the client worked, not even the x).
This has happened to me three times today. It's making me look bad. I am not very happy about the queue cooldowns either. I was trying to pick Sona and i could see the people on the team yelling at me to play support. I WAS TRYING TO.

Same thing happened to me. Cant ever que because it has happened to me twice and then to other players when the champ select does work for me. So we never get in a game. been trying every time the count down is up and happens again. For an HOUR now!!!!!! Riot fix this or remove the countdown!!!!

20 Minute timers is not much fun.. Good way around it though, Pick your champ. Pick masterys Then pick summoners. 
Same thing happened to me and got a 5min timer. Please fix asap.
I just had this bug right now as well. I was forced to close the game in order to fix it. What's worse was I was completely mute so I couldn't tell my team I was in trouble. This bug is incredibly game breaking.
Same problem. I would like my lost LP back.
Same. Was first pick. Was hoping someone would freak out about the lack of bans and dodge before I lost my LP and time, but no such luck.

I'm also having this issue. It happened 3 times today. Luckily the first two times it occurred after I had already selected a champ (although one time it grey-ed over before I could switch my runes and masteries). The third time, it happened the moment the champ select came up. I had to dodge that match due to this issue. This only started happening to me after the new update.
duo ranked match. entered champion select with the whole lol client transparent grey... unable to click anything, made me dodge 2 champion selects and now waiting 30 mins to reenter queue. THIS IS RIDICULOUS...

Happened to me 3 times today after new patch
UPDATE: First time it happened while changing my summoner spells, this time as soon as i entered champ select it was already greyed out without me pressign anything. Have a 10 min timer and lost LP from the first time. This is not acceptable.
