my league client always freezes on the "Ban a Champ" or "declare a champ you want to play".

When trying to ban a champ it will freeze and by the time the clock has ticked down, the ban button does not light up. with none stop clicking it will ban but not always. There are times when choosing a champ it does the same thing and then you get banned for 5mins which is not doing any favors on my part.
