Legends of Runeterra - failed to download update

I decided to try legends of runeterra today, so i installed the client and when i first try to open it it says failed to download updates. its gives me a retry button but i get the same error message. it also says that the error is unspecified

I'd try uninstalling it completely, restarting your computer, and reinstall it without any antivirus programs active.
