If you start Q in mordekaiser ult, and Q finishes after the ult it does no damage.

No, that's how it functions. Most things that are mid-case when he ults end up on the other side. That does and should include his own Q.

Ok, lets accept that one, even though it makes no sense, but if that is how it functions why can i get hit by the outside fizz ult while in morde ult?

Ah, hold on.

If the ult is on you, it's on you. It's now a debuff that comes with you. Same way you don't cleanse ignite when you ult.

I am fairly confident it was a random missed fizz ult.
