I have been lately experiencing a very weird bug. Basically, whenever I use the q ability on either varus, or vi, my ping will instantly shoot up until I use the ability. Once I have used the ability, my ping will instantly go back down. I do not lag at any other time during a game.

Crukins1 votes5 months since OP, still getting this problem with Varus. Every time I use my Q, I get anything from a 200 to 1000+ ping spike. I can't use him anymore.
Axlstrike1 votesHappens to me to ive found out that capping your framerate to 60 fps makes it go awayat least for me.its seems to have something to do with the framerate because putting the setting to uncapped my ping can shoot up to 5k+ and if put it at 80fps it goes 20ms up
Crukins1 votesYeah I used that. Certainly dropped the spike from 1k+ down to around 200ms, but that's after holding it for a few seconds (max range + time to aim). So happens regardless for me unfortunately.
Definitely helps, but isn't enough to remain competitive imho.
Pedigree King1 votesSwitching my FPS from uncapped to capped at 80 fixed this problem for me. Also as a sidenote Zac's slingshot has the same charging effect, so you probably would lag with him too.
