everytime when i log in i cannot connect with the chat .... so i cannot talk in champions select and i cannot talk to my friends.... please fix it

so to sum it up:

Close Client
Go to "C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\RADS\projects\lol_air_client_config_euw\releases\0.0.0.52" and delete "releasemanifest"
Go to "C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\RADS\projects\lol_air_client_config_euw\releases\0.0.0.52\deploy" and delete "lol.properties"
Go to "C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\RADS" and delete "last_versions"

should hopefully work for most cases

Didn't work for me, just left with "Logging into chat" endlessly

Even tried completely fresh install.

Same, i tried all thiose things and i did login after loads of relogging in the midday... But now it's freezed on "Logging onto chat".

I have the same problem: On the bottom of my league page it says: "logging onto chat service". This has been there for almost a day, I tried logging out and then back in several times, this doesn't seem to work. I can also not see me friend list and thereby also not able to chat with them. It says I have 0 friends. My chat groups are also gone. And I can't see my summoner icon when I am in a room to start of a game, however I can see it on the top of my league page where i can select other summoner icons. My friends are able to see my summoner icon. I play on a macbook air. on patch 6.16

delete the config file of your air client

normal installation path is C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\RADS\projects\lol_air_client_config_euw\releases\0.0.0.52\deploy\

delete lol.properties

otherwise you can try to delete the releasemanifest

C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\RADS\projects\lol_air_client_config_euw\releases\0.0.0.52\

delete releasemanifest

deleted both these files and my chat worked after i did it - thought it was the lol.properties file

if that doesn't work then i can't help you :(

managed to reproduce the error and got away with another solution.

close client

open C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\RADS\

delete last_versions

start client again

Can you check if you have akamai installed ? It is a program for the content caching cloud service for that company. In my case uninstalling it solved my chat issue.

It must be something else then in you're case. The chat is working correctly for me, so maybe you have another program that reroutes the chat or kills the network path. It must be something locally interfering with the routing since for me and another user the issue was first solved by the date change and later by the uninstall. Did you look in the installed programs list ? It does not show up as an application on the desktop.

ye was looking for it in the registry - its not installed.

Not quite sure where the problem comes from, but i guess it has smth to do with older versions of the client that were not properly updated with newer releases.
