"You have left the game in progress/ Please reconnect" bug.
LOL kept saying that I left a game in progress while I didn't. And now it's forcing me to reconnect to a non-existing game no matter what I do. WTF?

Same thing happened to me roughly around the same time as you, reopened client to no avail, tried to restart my pc and reopen the game, still nothing, and now I'm just sitting on the screen that says I need to complete a game in progress, although I had literally just finished a game and was waiting for stats when all of a sudden it says I quit a game in progress. Please Rito fix the game 
Same here. no longer can play league.. okay, where is my SMITE?
I am having the same problem, and have others on my friendslist saying they are too.
Same thing happened to me. Happened after I finished a game (crushed it with Rammus btw) and then couldn't load stats. No posts about working on a fix yet!?

Same here, this game is just going down and down. They prefer to make new champ but still have a lot of bug to fix..
so for now will need to wait t'ill next patch to play i guess...
This has been like 3 hours now ;_; So much for ranking on my day off.
same thing happened to me, its been like 3 hours already...still its showing game crashed try to reconnect....

It sounds like you experienced what we refer to as a ghost game. It is caused when the game server you were playing on fails to communicate the game-end message to PVP.Net.
The ghost game will last a maximum of 2 hours after this occurs. It often ends much earlier because the game server is simply backed up. Sometimes this issue can be fixed by relogging into League of Legends. Occasionally, restarting your computer may help. These actions force the client to request a new update.
Another side effect of the Ghost game is a delay with receiving your Influence Points, Experience or ELO. Once the game "clears" the server, these values will be updated on your account accordingly.
If the issue persists or occurs frequently it may indicate a problem with your connection. If this is the case, I would be more than happy to help you find the cause. If it was just this a one time occurrence, it was likely due to a delay in our server.
