Hextech boxes not dropping and S ranks not being recognized

So I noticed this earlier this week after scoring an S on bard for the first time. I did not get the Chest and when I looked at my profile, collection and then champions, it said that for bard I had yet to set a score for him. In fact after playing in a group I noticed that no matter who got an S or higher a hextech chest would not drop for anyone.

So to sum it up the game appears to be not recognizing and recording getting a rank on a champ even though it says it does at the end of a game.

Is this a bug or have I missed something?
