challenger rewards BUG!!!

In my friend list, i found a player who was diamond 5 player, but he got challenger icon.(solo ranked game icon) it means using this bug and everyone get dat challenger icon and Banner Trim?

Rewards are from last season and he could of dropped to Diamond since they've been awarded.
