5.14 Patch has caused major gameplay issues

My ping stays the same (110) but every time I cast a move my game freezes in place and there are jumpy movements here and there, my character doesn't react to me pressing any buttons or anything. This happens for about 6 seconds then all of a sudden there is an explosion of spells and damage that happens within a second. This happens constantly throughout the game and is very annoying to deal with. Before the patch I had no problem with this but after downloading the patch this happens every game. I am on a mac but like I said i have had no problem such as this before 5.14
