Changing Runes in Champion Select Causes Disconnection

Hi, I just started playing after taking a break for about two months. One problem I have encountered with my client is that whenever I try to save runes in my champion select, it would not save immediately. I instead have to wait 20-30s for the runes to save. Sometimes this causes disconnection too. I don't quite know the reason, so I tried reinstalling the client. That solved the problem for like a day, now its back to usual again. Can someone help please?

I had this EXACT same problem, and boards didn't help (as usual, no rioter is ever on boards). So I sent a support ticket and they suggested that I use an ethernet cable, instead of playing on WiFi. That seems to have solved the problem.

LOL that seemed to solve my problem too! Why tho? Doesn't seem to make any sense to me lol

WiFi can pose quite a few problems and is a lot slower than ethernet connections (you can check it yourself on your computer). I asked the Rioter assisting me something similar and he said that champion select uses a different server from the client browsing server. This is why you can probably change your runes fine in the client but have difficulty doing so in champion select. Apparently I had some heavy package loss during champion select, and ethernet cables are much better for mitigating package loss. That's my guess.
