Changing Runes in Champion Select Causes Disconnection

Hi, I just started playing after taking a break for about two months. One problem I have encountered with my client is that whenever I try to save runes in my champion select, it would not save immediately. I instead have to wait 20-30s for the runes to save. Sometimes this causes disconnection too. I don't quite know the reason, so I tried reinstalling the client. That solved the problem for like a day, now its back to usual again. Can someone help please?

I had this EXACT same problem, and boards didn't help (as usual, no rioter is ever on boards). So I sent a support ticket and they suggested that I use an ethernet cable, instead of playing on WiFi. That seems to have solved the problem.

Is there a way to fix the problem without using ethernet connection ?
