Mac Client User Kernel Bugged

In Activity Monitor, the process "UserKernel" is always highlighted in red and says (Not Responding). I've repaired and reinstalled, but the User Kernel seems to be flawed in some way. From my experience, quitting the process does not do anything in particular. However, I opt to keep the process running just to be safe (it is the kernel, after all).
